Now that was my kind of New York Weekend.
It was out of the city and into some country land. :)
Jonathan and I rented a car Friday night and we drove five hours up north to a town called Sackets Harbor to to visit some of his old friends. Our five hour trip ended up turning into a seven our trip due to my not-so-good navigation skills and a stop for a very much needed McDonald's shamrock shake. The shake, itself, was worth the time.
The girl we stayed with had her own apartment right on Lake Ontario. I could hear the waves crashing as soon as I stepped out of the car. And it was beautiful. It was wonderful getting to know Jonathan's friends and getting out of the city. It was like being in MI again and made me miss home even more.
Our trip home seemed to turn out just as badly-navigated as our trip there.... I tried to get some pictures, but they didn't turn out so pretty... I'll show you anyway.
This is me freaking out.
This is Jonathan freaking out.
We're both okay now.
We ended up making it home safely...or should I say, we made it back to NYC safely. Only two more weeks here, and we get to go home! I can't wait!
