almost home

Only a few more hours...and we'll be off to Michigan!
Instead of flying, we decided to rent a car and drive home. It's cheaper in the long run with everything we would have had to ship home. We are renting the car around 8pm tonight, which should bring us home around 8am tomorrow morning! I can't believe we're leaving so soon!
Life has definitely been crazy these past four months, but I wouldn't take a minute back. God has taught me so much and Jonathan and I have grown closer in God and marriage. I'm really excited to see what our Lord has in store for us these next few months. I know we will hit some bumps, but I also know and trust that the Lord will be there to pick us up and lead us in the right direction.
In our last few days out on the town Jonathan and I decided take some kissy photos in front of all the NYC sites. So if you don't want to see it...I'd stop reading now or skip to the bottom. :)

We're in love. :)

So, hopefully I will see everyone who is reading this soon!
I know I said I would have this blog for when I was in NY, but I will probably continue it when we get back to MI. I'm sure the Lord will give me something to write about.

Out of the city

Now that was my kind of New York Weekend.
It was out of the city and into some country land. :)
Jonathan and I rented a car Friday night and we drove five hours up north to a town called Sackets Harbor to to visit some of his old friends. Our five hour trip ended up turning into a seven our trip due to my not-so-good navigation skills and a stop for a very much needed McDonald's shamrock shake. The shake, itself, was worth the time.
The girl we stayed with had her own apartment right on Lake Ontario. I could hear the waves crashing as soon as I stepped out of the car. And it was beautiful. It was wonderful getting to know Jonathan's friends and getting out of the city. It was like being in MI again and made me miss home even more.
Our trip home seemed to turn out just as badly-navigated as our trip there.... I tried to get some pictures, but they didn't turn out so pretty... I'll show you anyway.
This is me freaking out.
This is Jonathan freaking out.
We're both okay now.
We ended up making it home safely...or should I say, we made it back to NYC safely. Only two more weeks here, and we get to go home! I can't wait!

the peace of God

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus... ... ...And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7, 19
Mmmmmmmm...... God's word is so good!
This was just what I needed to hear as I was reading today. I need to learn to live by these verses..."don't be anxious", presenting my requests to God with "thanksgiving", even when it wouldn't be my norm to be thankful. And what's so amazing about this is, if we do this, God will give us PEACE. And, not only will He be so giving about it, He will also make sure it "guards" our hearts and minds.
How much better could it get?!

Jonathan and I are about to make a big change in our lives and this scripture will probably be the one I'll be looking back at a lot.
As of March 23rd, like a mentioned in one of my other posts, Jonathan will no longer be working for his current employer. He has already started his own business called JDB Technology for IT infrastructure and management (computer stuff) and he will also be working for my dad's business, where I work! :) Once we get back, he would really love to start giving guitar lessons, so if you know anyone that wants them, let me know.

And me? Well, I will continue to work for my dad and make handmade jewelry to sell. I'd also like to flip items online, but we'll see how that goes. Most of the time though, I will probably be helping Jonathan with whatever he needs and trying to be the best homemaker and wife I can be. Eventually....hopefully...if it's the Lord's will, I will be having babies. :)

The Lord is our provider and I am so thankful with everything He has already blessed us with. I know He will continue to provide for us if we continue to trust and seek after Him. Jonathan and I would both really love to go into full time ministry soon and we pray to God for that door to open up. For now though, we will continue to keep walking through the other doors He's been opening up for us. We have a peace about where we're at and a peace about where we're going.

A little bit about me...

Hello! My Name is Felicia.

I like things like...
peanut butter, decorating, ginseng and honey tea, campfires, a clean house (not that it happens often enough), chocolate milk, being barefoot, orchids, the ocean, worshiping God, summer days, crafts, hugging my hubby Jonathan, pineapple, summer dresses, the Bible, trees, pillows, jumping in water puddles...
...to name a few.

I'm a Christ follower.
God continues to amaze me with his unconditional love. I believe His ways are far greater than mine and I continually seek His will for my life. I want to spread his word and share my faith with others. Jesus is who I want to share, not a religion, but the authentic, change-you-life Jesus.

I'm married.
I adore my husband! His name is Jonathan. We ere married when I was 20 and he was 27. I have not regretted for a moment being married to this man, despite our age difference. We are completely opposites, which is why I believe God blessed me with him.

What I do...
I'm a stay at home wife to my hardworking husband.. I love being home everyday and decorating our home, cleaning, and cooking dinner for my man. :) On the side, I make jewelry and buy and sell items online. I am also the bookkeeper for my dad's business, Attica Automation. I love the job!

My Calling..
When I was sixteen I was called to ministry. So I went on a missions trip to Thailand. It was one of the best experiences of my life!
Thailand Missions Trip-We taught English to students.

Now, I'm married, and my husband also has a call to ministry. We know the Lord has something amazing for us. As Jonathan works on getting his pastoral credentials, I continue to seek the Lord and find out what He has for me each day. We would love to go into full-time ministry somewhere.

So this is just me sharing my thoughts. It's a place for me to pour out my heart, share memories, pictures, recipes I like, and DIY projects. I like to show of my hand-making jewelry skills and share how the Lord blesses my days. And last, but not least, I love to talk about my hubby. He makes me happy.

I'd love your comments or you can e-mail me at fesha.b09@gmail.com

Thanks for stopping by!

my journey

This is where my journey begins.
As you can see, this is not Michigan. My husband was asked to move to New York City for three months for work. We prayed about it and prayed about it, then decided the move would be good. Well, three months has turned into four. I miss my family and friends, the country, and my home very much, but it has been a great experience for the two of us and we have grown tremendously. We will be returning home next month to start a new journey. We both feel called to ministry so starting next month, my husband will be quitting his job and we will pursue the Lord's will with whatever He sends our way. It is scary, yet peaceful all at once. I know the Lord's hand is upon us and I trust in Him with all my heart. This space will be about all the coming and goings of our growing family and glimpses of things that inspire me through my days.
